Run through the app on real jobs before the phone apps are built. Mark each step Works, Wrong or Skip, and add a note when something is off.
Turn a picture into laser files: the engraving, one paint mask (or stacked layer) per color, a paint key, and an SOP with the materials list. Works offline; nothing is uploaded.
How to take this picture (shots, angle, distance, light, when to retake)
Trim and clean up
Load a picture to start.
Areas as a list (keyboard or switch access)
Before you press start
Move a setting, see what moves with it
Is the machine ready?
Add my machine (any brand: the catalog has 80 laser families, diode to fiber; plasma, waterjet, CNC, 3D print, UV/DTF/vinyl and textile machines are in the machine list at the top)
A catalog machine starts with its class physics (beam, top speed, kerf) and every material's energy target, translated to it. Nothing is measured until you run the kerf test and log runs; the app says which is which.
Other machine types (CNC, vinyl cutter, 3D printer, embroidery, scanners…): which file to hand them
Carry a setting from one machine to another by keeping the energy per area (J/cm²) the same. Starting points only.
Or translate a whole material

Every burn worth remembering. This is the calibration record that turns starting points into your numbers.

My shop — who you are, your logo, your units and defaults (autofills the rest of the app)
Three switches, each a plain Yes / No / Ask me later. Nothing leaves this device unless The commons and a switch under it are both on. Every decision and every send is written below as one sentence you can read.
What leaves, what never leaves, what we keep, what you keep, what can't be undone
Receipts (last 5)
Upload my machine — the USB stick or download that came with it: libraries, profiles, manuals, drivers, calibration files
Drop everything in. What the app can read (LightBurn libraries and job files, xTool and slicer profiles, GRBL settings) becomes settings on file; what it can't read (Ruida .rd, EZCad .ezd/.cor, installers, PDFs) is catalogued and hashed so nothing is lost and calibration files are flagged as irreplaceable. Nothing is ever run.
SOP builder — setup to shipping for this job, with the mistakes people make and the fixes, in your colors
Vendors — quality vs price, bulk deals, and the links
Business plan — for starting, or for tightening what you have
LightBurn library
Every non-refused setting for the selected machine as a .clb file. LightBurn: Library tab → Load.
Material test grid
Read the burned grid from a photo
Make a grid first, burn it, then load a photo taken straight above it.
Measure this machine
Import settings
A LightBurn library (.clb) from a vendor or the community, or one of your own job files (.lbrn2). Rows land on the machine selected at the top, with J/cm² and their source attached.
Research loop
How the library keeps learning: your runs promote rows; the watch list is what to check each quarter.

Backup
Orders and runs live on this device. Save a backup to OneDrive now and then; the same file restores on any device.
